Behind the Brand
Making vintage shopping affordable, sustainable and high quality for everyone

Anya Nair, Founder
Anya created this venture to transform the vintage market into a more intentional space. As a lifelong fashion lover, her intention with Vintage Breakout is to be a platform where everyone could access both luxury and everyday vintage pieces at affordable prices—without compromising on style or ethics.

Beyond just curating with care, we aim to celebrate the history behind vintage fashion, honoring each piece’s story. A core part of our mission is also rooted in giving back, with a portion of proceeds donated to local charities and community initiatives.

Anya comes from a proud South Asian background, with her family roots in India. A lot of the sourcing she does is inspired by what she loves most about the culture, and her goal is to bring that beauty into the Western world. These designs are her way of expressing appreciation for her background, made to be shared with everyone.
How Vintage Breakout Started
In previous years, representation was hard to find, in fashion, media, and beyond, Anya saw the impact that lack of visibility could have. The message was clear: certain people and stories weren’t being included.
Later, while curating her own style, focusing on one of a kind pieces, Anya discovered the power of vintage and second-hand fashion.

By merging personal experiences with her passion for fashion, Anya sought to create a platform that addresses both challenges: a space where vintage is not only sustainable and affordable, but also inclusive and representative. Vintage Breakouts mission is simple, make vintage fashion better for everyone, and give back along the way.

Common Words Used on Vintage Breakout Social Media:
"It Girl"

At Vintage Breakout, It Girl is thoughtful, effortlessly cool, and unapologetically herself. Inspired by our growing community, we created this term to spotlight those who wear Vintage Breakout with individuality and confidence. As a vintage/sourcing collective, we value one-of-a-kind clothing and the stories they carry. We love to showcase those who style our pieces in a way that’s uniquely them- that’s the essence of a It Girl. You’ll also see this spirit reflected in our models, who we proudly call It Girls, too: walking representations of what we stand for.

Archive/Archival (From Anya)
"We strive to make vintage as accessible as possible, especially through price. That being said, I have, and always have been, a lover of fashion history. At Vintage Breakout, we define vintage as anything from 10–15+ years ago. Archival vintage is a reflection of that, plus the story it carries. These pieces come from a brand’s past collections and are often historically, culturally, or stylistically significant. Archival pieces can include rare or limited edition items, pieces that represent a specific era, designs from past collections, or runway pieces from the past. We’re slowly but intentionally building our archive collection, and as we do, we can’t wait to keep sharing it with you all!"
Worldwide Vintage
Continuing our passion for fashion history, Vintage Breakout has never wanted to stop at just one country or continent when it comes to vintage. We’re branching out to find special pieces from all over the world. Our goal is to celebrate and appreciate other countries’ cultures, histories, and beautiful craftsmanship, bringing global fashion stories to light from right here. We spotlight local designers, like Riani in Germany, as well as high-end brands such as Blumarine, D&G, and more. Alongside designer vintage, we also have the privilege of discovering niche international brands that offer one-of-a-kind statement pieces built to last a lifetime.
